Physical and mental health meet through movement: how yoga can support healing from trauma
The neurobiology of trauma indicates, however, that there are avenues to intervene directly in the survivor’s state of disconnection: it is possible to intentionally interfere and reset our nervous system. Yoga is one of the ways in which we can do this as it offers a means of befriending one’s bodily sensations and re-establishing a sense of safety in our internal worlds.
